How to Establish Procedures and Routines in the Classroom

Last week I had the opportunity to be featured on TeacherPop.org.  Teacher Pop is hosted by Teach for America and the blog provides  real talk, tips, and tools for new teachers.  I'm excited to share with you the post I wrote for Teacher Pop titled Top Tips for Establishing Procedures and Routines in the Classroom.  You can check out a preview of the post below.


"Do you often feel like you have too much to do and not enough time to do it?  This is definitely how I felt many times during my first year in the classroom. I taught two different classes and three subjects: math, science, and social studies. With surprise district tests, ARD meetings, multiple announcements over the intercom, assemblies, and random fire drills, I needed more interrupted time with my kids and in my classroom."
